Urban Photography Summer School 2012

Designed for photographers, artists and urbanists whose work addresses notions of urban space and culture, the international Summer School provides a highly intensive two week practical and theoretical training in key aspects of urban visual practice. The course aims to offer participants a wide range of relevant skills resulting in the production of a photography portfolio drawn from London’s urban environments combined with a collective final exhibition.

SELF PUBLISH BE HAPPY

On June 23rd/24th we are running a workshop with Pogo Books for people interested in publishing their own zine, and have just launched a competition in collaboration with The British Journal of Photography to give away one free place.

The workshop provides an overview from classic zines made on photocopy machines to high end offset printed photozines.

In order to win a place at the workshop entrants should submit a photo project of 10 photographs they wish to publish (720px wide, 72dpi) to selfpublished.behappy@googlemail.com

Bursaries for students!

Two £3000 bursaries are available, one for 16-25 year olds and one for 26 and over to undertaken a photographic project around environmental awareness. Entries close on 31 May.

Leah Gordon: residency project in Four Corners' gallery

Lab Projects invites artists working in film and photography to apply for production-based residencies at Four Corners in 2012. Three artists will be supported to produce a body of new work using dedicated space and facilities.

The residency provides:

* Artists’ fee of £4,500 per person.
* Up to £5,000 of Four Corners’ and on-site partner facilities, studio, room space and production materials/expenses.
* In-house mentor.
* Showcasing opportunities.

Study in one of the worlds most prestigious photography departments with internationally acclaimed artists and writers.

The MFA Photography at Farnham is full time for 2 years. There are 2 taught days per week, the department boasts excellent analogue and digital resources, studios and darkrooms as well as facilities to develop book projects with the BookRoom Press (an active printing press)
