Female photojournalist award calling for entries

Women photographers have until 31 May to enter this year's Canon/AFJ Female Photojournalist Award, which comes with a €8000 bursary for the completion of a documentary project

Call for Entries: ING Discerning Eye 2012 - UK ARTISTS

NOTE THERE IS A SMALL ENTRY FEE FOR THIS EXHIBITIONCOMPETITION

The ING Discerning Eye Exhibition is created from small artworks selected by two art critics, two artists and two collectors from an open submission and those who have been invited to contribute work. Last year over 600 pieces were displayed in six small exhibitions at the Mall Galleries.

The Call for Entries for submissions to the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition 2012 has been published.

The deadline for entries is 7/8th September in London.

Ian Parry Scholarship deadline 20th July - international prize for documentary and photojournalism £3,500 exhibition MOTHER London

The Ian Parry Scholarship deadline is 20th July 2012. The award is an international award for photographers on full time courses or of 24 years and under.

The competition will be judged by our Patron Don McCullin and former winners Marcus Bleasdale & Harriet Logan, Jon Jones of Sunday Times magazine, Tom Stoddart and Lynsey Addario.

Celeste Prize 2012, 4th Edition, open call for works

Katya Garcia-Anton, curator of the Spanish Pavilion at the 54th Visual Arts Biennial in Venice 2011, is curator of the 4th Edition of Celeste Prize 2012, an international contemporary arts prize which awards artists 20,000 €.

Celeste Prize is open to artists worldwide, without limits of age or experience. A team of top art curators and critics will choose the 40 finalist works to be exhibited in Rome, Italy, 1-9 December 2012.

Picture childhood to help charity

A children's cancer charity is hosting its first photography competition to raise funds to support its work.

People are being asked to take pictures on the theme childhood and email them to Children With Cancer to be in with a chance of winning.
There are two age categories, children aged 16 years or under, and adults aged 17 and over. Each entry must be accompanied by a minimum donation of £5 for children and £10 for adults.

The top prize in both categories is a day-long big cat photoshoot in Hertfordshire plus a £50 voucher for Jessops.

The Ian Parry Scholarship deadline has been announced June 30th 2012. The international photography award is open to photojournalists & documentary photographers on full time courses or 24 years old and under. The prize is £3,500 plus an assignment for Save The Children & all the finalist's work will be published in the Sunday Times magazine & exhibited in a London Gallery www.ianparry.org

Student Photo Competition

The Higher Education Academy is looking for a photograph/digital image which captures how it feels to study the Arts and Humanities when studying the Arts and Humanities is at its best. All entries will be displayed at the Arts and Humanities annual conference and the student who submits the HEA's favourite image will win the choice of either a new third generation iPad 16 GB, 4G with WiFi or £450 in Book Tokens.
