The Ian Parry Scholarship deadline has been announced June 30th 2012. The international photography award is open to photojournalists & documentary photographers on full time courses or 24 years old and under. The prize is £3,500 plus an assignment for Save The Children & all the finalist's work will be published in the Sunday Times magazine & exhibited in a London Gallery www.ianparry.org

Student Photo Competition

The Higher Education Academy is looking for a photograph/digital image which captures how it feels to study the Arts and Humanities when studying the Arts and Humanities is at its best. All entries will be displayed at the Arts and Humanities annual conference and the student who submits the HEA's favourite image will win the choice of either a new third generation iPad 16 GB, 4G with WiFi or £450 in Book Tokens. NEWS - Media History Journal – Graduate Student Essay Prize

Media History, the Routledge journal, is pleased to announce the annual Media History Graduate Student Essay Prize.

Media History seek to encourage new and innovative scholarship in the field ‘media history’, broadly defined, and have established this prize to highlight the best new work in the field undertaken by current graduate students.

Papworth Trust 2012 Photography Exhibition

The competition theme for 2012 is inspiration, which is one of the four Paralympic values. Inspiration means different things to everyone, but interpretations could include:

an inspiring action or influence
the result of inspired activity
a thing or person that inspires you.

The competition will be judged in the following categories:
16 years and under

IdeasTap Competition

IdeasTap, the online arts and funding organisation for young creatives, have teamed up with Sky Arts to launch a new bursary for young artists.

The Sky Arts Ignition: Futures Fund will offer five young artists £30,000 each to fund their work for a full year. The fund is open to artists aged 18-30 living in the UK and Ireland, and is designed to bridge the gap between formal education and becoming a working artist.

The Sky Arts Ignition: Futures Fund is open to individual artists working in visual art, theatre, performance art, film, music, dance or literature.

Scholarships for European Master of Fine Art Photography

Master Madrid is launching a contest to win scholarships for the European Master of Fine Art Photography. The first prize is a scholarship that covers the cost of the course fee, equivalent to 9.000 €. There will be two second prizes which will cover 50% of the course fee, each equivalent to 4.500 €.

FotoEvidence Book Award

Once a year the FotoEvidence Book Award will recognize a documentary project addressing a violation of human rights, a significant injustice, or an assault on human dignity. The selected project will be published in a book, as part of a series of FotoEvidence books dedicated to the work of photographers whose commitment and courage create an awareness of social injustice.
