OPPORTUNITY TO DOCUMENT THE ELECTION

We at Demotix have an exciting opportunity for your photography students. Please see below.

Demotix - www.demotix.com - is the UK's leading open news platform.

We have over 800 contributors around the country (and 14,000 around the world), who will be reporting the General Election for us.

We will be taking their stories, hosting them at Demotix.com and pushing them to the mainstream media here and abroad.

We have just launched a mini-site for the upcoming UK elections showing campaigns, candidates and related features from around the UK:

This will also be a great opportunity for your students to interact with a UK-wide news community while also providing a platform for their photos and articles.

It would be great to get your photography students on board for this project. We're especially looking for local elections content that won't be reported in mainstream media. We aim to have the most comprehensive general election coverage, so we're especially keen on local, off-the-beaten-track stories. If the content is especially good, there is a possibility that it could be syndicated to mainstream sources such as the Guardian.
