Awards "EL PATI DE LA LLOTJA"
EMERGENT-LLEIDA Festival Internacional de Fotografía y Artes Visuales

The Pati de la Llotja is a new space that is used during the festival EMERGENT-LLEIDA 2010, specifically for the Nice to Meet You series of events. It is a meeting point intended to establish exchanges and create networks and synergies between emerging artists/photographers and the curators, festivals, galleries or publishers. EMERGENT-LLEIDA Festival suggests that this is the place to make known your work within and beyond the festival.

In keeping with this philosophy, every year the festival will adopt thirty emerging artists through an international public call. They will have the opportunity to show their portfolio to players within the art sector, who have been specifically invited to attend the festival.

Individuals and organisations that have already committed their participation as a viewers of the work include: Christian Caujolle (Founder of the agency VU and director of a photography festival in Cambodia), David Balsells (Fundació Forvm), Mariona Fernández (Talleres Islados), Vicenç Boned (Galería Tagomago), Jordi Bernadó (Photographer), Antoni Jove (Art Center La Panera), Maria Cerezo y Emma Llensa (Carpaccio Maganzie), Joana Hurtado (La Vanguardia critic and independent curator), Joaquim Ruiz (H2O Gallery), Fernado Peracho (Valid Foto Gallery), Roser Xandri (Espai Cavallers Gallery), Júlio Álvarez (Spectrum Soto Gallery), Maribel Nadal (UNA Gallery - París), Andrea Algueró y Héctor Velázquez (EFE24), Ricardo Juarez (News-Papers Magazine), Tatiana Kourochkina (TK Gallery, BCN), Gustavo y Ángela Alemán (Gatos de Marte Gallery of Múrcia), Pedro Vicente Mullor (teacher of photography's theroy in Universidad UCA, Farnham (UK) and co-director of postgraduate course of photography of Elisava School, Barcelona, Pablo Pérez Losada (Centre Cívic Can Basté), Laura Clemente (art gallery: La Pan, Barcelona / Pantocrator Gallery, Berlín), Sílvia Omedes (director of Fundación Photographyc Social Vision), Jesús Micó (photographer and director Sala KURSALA de la Universidad de Cádiz), Glòria Picazo (Director del Centre d'Art La Panera), Núria Gras (workshop director, La Magistral), Manel Úbeda (photographer, teacher of photography and fundator La Magistral), José Manuel Macrillante (The Private Space Books), Silvia Giorgetti (The Private Space Gallery), Anna Baeza (Piel de Foto) and more... the list will increase.

Awards "El Pati de la Llotja"
In addition to the chance to show their work widely, the selected authors in El Pati de la Llotja will compete for the following awards:

1. Award 10x15
The curators of 10x15's team will select their favourite authors and works, to design a special issue of the fanzine which will be published on-line.

2. Booklets Publisher
by The Private Space Books
Five or six authors from El Pati de la Llotja will be selected and their work used to create booklets edited by The Private Space Books. The booklets will be launched in Barcelona in July 2011.

3. Collective exhibition
at The Private Space Gallery
Five or six authors from El Pati de la Llotja will be selected to participate in a collective exhibition produced by The Private Space Gallery. The exhibition will open in July 2011 in The Private Space Gallery, Barcelona. http://www.theprivatespacebcn.com/

4. Individual exhibition
in Valid Foto Gallery BCN

Fernando Peracho from Valid Foto BCN will select one of the artists and an individual exhibition of their work will be produced in the gallery in 2011. At the same time, the artist will be represented by the Gallery in its shows and events.
