Fujifilm Student Awards 2011
The theme for the Fujifilm Student Awards 2011 is 'Senses'.
Senses: Any of the five physical processes by which stimuli are received -
Sight - Hearing - Smell - Taste - Touch
The brief is to capture what Senses means to you, how do you see things? what alters your perception? Although photography is obviously a visual medium don't forget the other senses, how does smell feel? what does noise look like?
The Fujifilm Student Awards 2011 submission deadline the end of February 2011.

CARROUSEL DEL LOUVRE
PILAR CITOLER´S INTERNATIONAL PRIZE FOR CONTEMPORARY PHOTOGRAPHY is a contemporary oriented photography contest that had its first edition on 2006 in Paris, coinciding with PARIS-PHOTO. This year, 2010, will be its fifth edition. To mark this occasion an assembly with specialized press will be conducted on November 17th, in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Paris.

WAR ON WANT PHOTOGRAPHY AWARD
Document is proud to announce the launch of its photography competition for 2011. This year’s theme is the impact of cuts in public services on communities across the globe. Students photographers are asked to capture scenes that demonstrate the grim reality of the age of austerity, which has affected the poor disproportionately. This year’s competition, The New Austerity: Surviving without a safety net, will be accepting submissions beginning September 2010.

Fiona has a new show coming up in November/December at 10 Grosvenor Street in Mayfair, London, as part of Sustainability Awareness Week at Hammerson’s.

If you can’t get to the Private View, the show is open weekdays 8am-7pm from 25th November to 2nd December.

To commemorate the 57th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC 2011), the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK Branch (CPA UK) plans to appoint an Artist-in-Residence to produce a piece of art to be hung in the Houses of Parliament. The residency will provide an excellent personal and professional development opportunity for an artist with an interest in Parliament, the Commonwealth and international relations.

As you may have noticed fotofolios have undergone a bit of a facelift. Here's a short list of some of the changes:
New Stuff
- The site is now running on a new London based server and as a result it should be a lot faster and more responsive.
- When you've logged in you will find all the tools you need under 'Edit & Create'.
- Portfolio editing has been massively improved. Portfolio photographs are no longer found on the 'images' tab. All your details are now on one page for easy editing. You can now add as many photograph as you like.

The World Photography Organisation (WPO) has announced this year’s juries of the Sony World Photography Awards. The announcement comes just three months ahead of the closing date for the 2011 Awards (5 January 2011).
The Sony World Photography Awards is the most comprehensive photography prize in the world with the broadest range of categories open to photographers of every level.
