The Two Teddies, 2010
by Aimée Woollard
This work explores the experiences of my father, looking back on
14 years as a widower.
We took objects chosen by my father signifying certain aspects of this unplanned life with the aim of cathartically releasing their negative connotations in a meaningful space.
He chose the two teddies in particular to symbolise my brother and I, in turn representing everything that embodies my fathers paternal obligation and a desire for freedom.
