Born in Chandigarh, Amit Sheokand completed his Law Honours in 2006 and practiced for three years before giving in to his real passion- Photography. He completed his Post Graduation in Photography from the prestigious National Institute of Design. His work is centered around the experience of being with oneself and around people. There is no particular aspect of the society that he concentrates on. The people and the urban landscape are equally of interest to him. Seeing and being aware of one's surroundings is the underlying focus of his photographs. He believes photography reveals time past and time present, intersecting with hints of time future in characterless rhythm of non-Euclidean history. To get inspired for his work, he does not have to look too far, he derives inspiration from his own life and those of people around him.
