Artist Statement:

Reimer’s practice addresses the relationship between body, place and memory. Her work consistently makes use of a surrealistic language to explore femininity, sexuality and loss. The female body is fragmented and dismembered, fracturing the power of the photographic gaze. Reimer is inspired by the location of her photographic performance where she uses herself as the subject. The locations, which are carefully and purpously selected, embue her performance with personal value. Reimer’s performances are quiet, yet powerful, evocations of a hidden unknown.
