There are just not enough straight lines.
That is the problem.
Nothing is flat or parallel.
Beams balance crookedly on supports thrust off the vertical.
Nails clutch at open seams.
The whole structure leans dangerously towards the miraculous.
Into this rough frame, someone has squeezed a living space.
Under-Construction is the series of photographs shot in documentary style of photography by capturing the combination of different images highlight the idea of space of a worker on the congested sites of construction. Photographs are the documentation of spaces in terms of working as well as living.
The purpose of diptychs makes it a very formal presentation to show the images of contrast of the “Construction Site”. This Project and images of Construction site was an effort of creating a discrete individual space. Exploring the forms on the Construction site was a very generic view of the site which also shows the complexity of the life of a worker. Dealing space was a very conscious effort to enter the worker’s private life without bothering and hindering them and that is why I personally preferred the frames without people and documented their presence in their belongings.Choice of shooting their belongings was to show the temporary set-ups in the workers life.
Juxtaposition of two pictures is an attempt to highlight the symbolism of showing their comfort zones with their struggle on the contrary image.
