The reason why I choose to work with photography is not only because I enjoy the medium itself but
because of the possibilities it gives me as a photographer to get a glimpse into other people’s lives - to learn about different cultures, professions etc.

But photography is also closely linked to one of my other interests: crafts. By working in the darkroom with traditional photography I get to create unique photographs which become objects in themselves. I enjoy working with old cameras and incorporating old photographs into my practice. This has led me into themes of memory and time, which are constantly present in photography.

However, working exclusively in Black and White does not satisfy my creativity. Just as much as I love the tones, depth and preciousness in a hand printed black and white photograph, I also love working in
colour. By taking advantage of today’s technology I am able to work in a faster pace and to treat colours however I choose.
