Francesca Lever

My work isn't plastic.
It's natural.
Organic.
It's just what it is.

Francesca Lever comes from an artistic family, her father John Lever is an artist, her uncle Richard Lever is a photographer and her uncle Stewart Lever was an architect.

Having been passionate about visuals from an early age, her parents encouraged her to watch Steven Spielberg and Ridley Scott films at an early age. Because of their openess to let her watch these films so young, Francesca is convinced this had a profound effect on her as an artist.

At seventeen she was invited to be a production assistant at Pinewood Studios on the BBC show Extras, to Daniel Radcliffe and Ricky Gervais in 2006. Although the experience was only short this gave her a crucial insight into the industry. "I remember seeing the Stardust and Casino Royale set in Pinewood's backlot and thinking "This is it... this is what I want to do." she recalls. She was seventeen.

Studying photography and film at Godalming Sixth form college she still chased opportunities and managed to gain work placements at BBC, ITV, BAFTA, and Silvertip films.

Determined to continue her work at Pinewood Studios she was invited to gain experience in Unit Stills photography. She has been fortunate to work on several television series and films and has worked with some of the most sucessful people in the industry: Christopher Lee, Daniel Radcliffe, Ashley Jansen, Paul Whitehouse, Lisa Cavalli Green, Ricky Gervais, Diana Rigg amongst others.

She was selected as a motivational speaker to school pupils in 2007 in secondary education, and was invited back to Godalming College as a guest lecturer in 2011 to discuss her "Adventures" as she describes them, in film.

In her free time she works on her series "Light and form" with model Holly Leedham who she considers to be her muse.

Although having worked at Pinewood with some of the most insiring actors and directors in the world, Francesca claims her biggest inspiration is partner Matthew Tully.
