Helena's passion is portraiture and so her work most often revolves around her interests and other people who share it.
Lately she has been very interested in new media, the Internet and avatars. As an avatar is in its basic form a self portrait or a portrait of someone else, the questions of identity and place are fascinating.
Helena is currently working on a series titled 'Elsewhere' which depicts her in a cardboard box placed in various locations. The images signify the desire to be elsewhere and that your own world can be with you wherever you may be.
