Jack Davis
A major influence upon Jack's photography are his experiences and time spent traveling in Indonesia, Thailand and India. These experiences have allowed him to experiment with different forms of photography, producing images for the Documentary, Portraiture and Experimental fields of photography. He constantly draws upon these experiences and memories to motivate him into new ways of approaching the 'Travel Image' genre.
Jack is currently working on a body of work entitled 'Between The Lines'. This piece was inspired by his great grandfathers diary containing first hand experiences of the First World War. Combining text from the diary and Landscape photography, Jack is revisiting precise locations found in the diary and photographing them in their current state. Through responding accordingly to the evocative atmosphere Jack hopes to challenge the way with which this subject has been approached and is appealing to the viewers emotions, challenging them to think about what they see within the image.
