Kerry Ironside
I am an artist photographer fascinated by the interaction between people and their environment. Throughout my degree studies at UCA Farnham my work has developed through putting myself into my images and incorporating my experiences into my work.
I am attracted to the space where photography overlaps with sculptural and performative practices and enjoy exploring how these 3-dimensional art forms convey their ideas through fusion with photography.
My work over the past 18 months has been influenced by ideas about costume, gender and preconceptions about identity. I have developed my ideas using experience from my career as a businesswoman and have researched ideas of writers such as Judith Butler and Naomi Wolf. Use of colour and the notion of what is 'natural' underpin the presentation of the work.
