My artistic practice is founded on the attempt to articulate the invisible. I work with the medium of photography, continuously investigating its poetic collision between the tangible and the abstract. Underpinning my work is a critical engagement with the history of photography and its characterization.
In the project ’80 Hours’ I investigate the darkroom and consider its allegorical qualities that parallel the omnipresence of darkness and light, within the medium of photography. The title ’80 Hours’ refers to the total amount of time spent in the darkroom recording, developing the negatives and making the final silver prints. This processed-based approach is cyclical, referential, and alludes to the modern condition of photography.
