Thom Bridge is a half English half Swedish photographer currently living and working in Gothenburg, Sweden. This year he has been selected as a UK Winner for the Magenta Foundations’ Flash Forward - Emerging Photographers 2011.
In 2010 Thom was short-listed for the Hasselblad Foundation’s Victor Fellowship for his ongoing series “Mother’s Tongue” and was subsequently part of the touring group exhibition “New Nordic Photography 2010: On Display” at the Hasselblad Center in the Museum of Art in Gothenburg and Centrum För Fotografi in Stockholm.
Thom was the recipient of the British Council’s PMI2 Fund for the second time in 2010 and returned to India to make and exhibit new work. He was also selected to take part in the British Council’s Sporting Nations Photographers Exchange to celebrate the bicentenary of the Argentine Republic. His new self-published book “Stops” was shown at both The London Art Book Fair and The Small Publishers Fair.
