My work explores the boundaries between the physical self, the ethical self, the social self and how these overlap and merge within new mediums of electronic representation. My work places itself across ‘constructed’, ‘virtual’ and ‘actual’ realities.

Through photography I seek to challenge representations of female beauty by interrogating the popular verisimilitude that surrounds the genre. My photographs are intended to disturb, transgress and illustrate the tensions that may found in the manufactured image and attempts to confront these issues by exposing uncertainties and seams within the advertising portrait and questioning our collective relationship with the constructed simulant.

It’s intended that my work challenges the audience to question the importance of control, embodiment and variances between personal and encountered realities.
